“This is a great local offering that brings together families and friends throughout our community and we are lucky to celebrate it every year,” commented Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna).
The local Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa hosts this event, which includes snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on 26 miles of groomed trails, sledding, ice skating, turkey bowling and sled-dog rides. In the evening there are also winter glows with hot-air balloons.
Your little princess can meet the real “Winter Carnival Princess” and the Winter Carnival includes many activities like the Sasquatch Shuffle, a 2K snowshoe run/walk, Mini Olympics with fun challenges, and sledding and ice skating at The General Golf Course. Guests can also enjoy tractor-wagon rides, scenic trail rides at Shenandoah Riding Center, and the stunning Fire & Ice Balloon Glow at night.
A four-day celebration of all things snow, ice, and frost. Visitors can enjoy a variety of winter activities, including dazzling Fire and Ice shows, ice turkey bowling, cozy s'mores around the fire, and hayrack wagon rides. If that’s not enough for you and your family, you can watch ice-carving demonstrations and go ice fishing with equipment rentals from the Eagle Ridge Nordic Center. With an indoor play land, craft room, and golf simulator by Trackman, there's fun for all ages.
A complimentary shuttle to Chestnut Mountain Resort will be available to Eagle Ridge’s guests daily. Overlooking the Mississippi River, Chestnut Mountain has over 220 rolling acres and a 475-foot vertical drop with 19 ski trails and a 7-acre terrain park at The Farside featuring over 25 rails and structures.
