Here are three things you didn't know about Illinois State Representative Dennis Tipsword:
1. Family Lineage Runs DeepRep. Tipsword has been married to his wife Betsy for more than 30 years and resided in Woodford County his entire life. The Tipsword family continues to grow, with seven grandchildren currently. The Tipsword name originated with his seventh great-grandfather and continues with his second grandson, who is named after the firstborn Tipsword.
2. Avid OutdoorsmanA huge fan of the outdoors and hunting, Rep. Tipsword enjoys early mornings hunting waterfowl and is an avid deer hunter. During hunting season, he can often be found in either a duck blind or a deer stand.
3. Former Narcotics Officer/Small Business Owner
Rep. Tipsword currently serves as the Chief Deputy of the Woodford County Sheriff's Office and has worked as an undercover narcotics detective. Rep. Tipsword's experiences in law enforcement leadership and the small business community have shaped his ongoing efforts to serve the residents of the 105th District as a citizen legislator and not a career politician.
